We are thrilled to announce that our latest innovation in hydration vest technology, the Pinnacle 12L, has earned the REI Co-op Editors’ Choice Award. These awards honor the top-performing gear carried by the retailer, and our new Pinnacle vest struck testers with its ingenious storage design and lightweight materials.
The Pinnacle 12L, launched May 2021, was designed to be 20% lighter and more breathable than any of our other packs, with the addition of thoughtful storage solutions. The 12L vest has a total of 13 pockets, including a large, easy-entry diagonal zipper pocket across the back and two water-resistant pockets on the chest for your phone and other essentials. Tapered panels along the back of the vest offer a chimney wicking effect to keep your back dry throughout your run, and a newly-designed longer back panel helps disperse carrying capacity. The Pinnacle 12L comes with a 1.6L insulated hourglass bladder.

We have searched and searched for a running vest for my boyfriend that has a big enough front pocket (with a zipper) for his Samsung phone and ample storage in the back. We finally found it in your Pinnacle 12L, but that aqua color is so feminine. I know you say it’s unisex but why oh why did you not make this vest in a darker color option? Lime green or aqua are the only color choices for the 12L pinnacle? Something like the black 4 liter color choices would have been perfect. I also ordered the 12L navy blue model Rob Krar vest and the phone barely fit. You have to put stress on the zipper to get it to close and I fear it will break or rip after a few runs so I’m returning that one too. Bummer that pinnacle 12L is such a nice vest and meets our needs all except for the color. Any other suggestions for one I might have overlooked somewhere?
