We asked world renowned runner and Super-Dad, Mike Wardian for tips on running as a family.Â
Here are his 5 tips to a successful outing.Â
1: Keep it easy
Running with kids should be fun and I would suggest not planning on your run with kids being your only run of the day. Try to make the run about the kids and not where you need to get miles.Â
2: PACE
Try to encourage the kids to dictate pace as it's easier to keep everyone happy.Â
3: Stroller
If the children as very small, getting a running stroller is key. It will help keep the kids safe and protected but also really improves the experience for the adult.Â
4: SNACKS
Have lots of treats, snacks, water, etc. It's a powerful motivator.
Â
5: Location/Destination
Know where you want to go and share that with the kids. They can then have something to look forward to.Â
